Final Night

Hello Everyone,

Today was finals, I got to swim with my new friend from Georgia (Thea) she is six years old and she is a lot of fun to hang around with! I am going to miss her when I am gone, but on the bright side, I will have all of my friends to hang out with when I get back to Greenville! ( I can't wait to show my good friend Lily what I got her at Disney Land!! I did not win the National Pageant, but in my family and friends hearts, I am a winner and I feel proud of my accomplishments.

I have to catch a plane really early tomorrow morning, in about 7 hours actually. So I have to go to bed now.

Today was the last day of competition. I had my interview and it went really well. I also had another rehearsal for the final competition tomorrow. I am really excited. I also am happy to be going home in 2 days! Hannah, a spirit stick is an award for showing the most spirit at rehearsals.

After rehearsal I went to Downtown Disney. I did some shopping and got a new stuffed animal, a dalmation puppy. I named her Zoe. We got to eat Thanksgiving dinner and then we saw some really cool fish, in the big aquarium, at the Rainforest shop.

Lily, thanks for writing to me! Maybe I will be able to see you on Sunday?

Hello everyone,
Today I had to compete in Formal wear and Personal introduction. It was alot of fun to see everyone clapping for me after I finished. What a life! Tomorrow I have my interview and I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I hope I do well and I know you are all rooting for me. I hope ya'll back at home are having as much fun as I am here!

Day In Hollywood

Dear My Viewers,

I just came back from practice for both of the dance numbers. Afterwards, my Mom told me (she was watching me, like always, the good Mom that she is), that I almost got the Spirit Stick award tonight. But, there was another girl, 2 children down from me, that got the Spirit Stick instead. At first, I was a little disappointed. But then my Mom reminded me (and Dad) that I can always get a Spirit Stick for the next practice!

The best part of today was: I went to the Beach!!! I saw the Pacific Ocean, it was so cool. It was a little chilly and very windy. There weren't many shells. I saw part of a jelly fish and I found backs of crabs and I took them home to show my friends. But, unfortunately, they cracked in my Dad's pocket.

We also went to Beverly Hills and Hollywood. It was a lot of fun. I met a new friend, her name is Sydney and she if from Pennsylvania. We had a lot of fun together; we rode on the bus the whole time in the same seats, together, of course. I saw the stars on the Walk of Fame and I pretended to have my own star (see the picture below). I got to go in the shops on Rodeo Drive. It was bunches and bunches of fun.

Well, that's all for today. Tomorrow is my first competitions: Formal wear in the morning and interview in the afternoon.

Day 3

Today I got to go swimming in the hotel pool. Then, this afternoon I went to my first official rehearsal. It was a lot of fun! Our song for the dance is "I Like to Move it Move it" from Madagascar. There really wasn't much to my day but after practise I got to go eat dinner with my new favorite pageant friend, Savannah, from North Carolina. And that's really all that I have to say.
All I can say now is bye!

PS from Jil: Hailey had rehearsals for her personal introduction and formal wear today. Darren did really well, too - he will be a great escort if he doesn't get too nervous! The girls all know more than the parents do (don't they always?)... The dance is really cute (for the opening number) and they made the Mom's get up on stage to see what we picked up from watching the practise. Hailey said I did great! She had a good practise and is up against some stiff competition - definitely the best of the best. But, she is having a wonderful time and that's why we're here!
Tomorrow is the Hollywood tour. I will post photos tomorrow!
All of your emails and comments have been so wonderful! She was touched by all of your kind words of encouragement and praise. These will be great to read again before her Formal Wear and Personal Introduction Competitions on Wednesday! Thanks again!

My Day At Disney

Hey yall, I'm back!!!! It's me Hailey. When we got to the park [Disneyland] my mom,dad,and I went to a line for a rollercoaster. It was only my second rollercoaster, ever! I was very excited and I got a front row seat. It was awesome! I also went on 3 other rollercoasters. My favorite one was Space Mountain - you were in the dark and you could only see fake stars and black. At first I was scared, but then I was very excited. That was the same way with all of the other coasters. I am meeting some nice girls from other states like Connecticut, Minnesota, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma... I can't remember them all. But, those are the ones I can tell you for now. We got to watch the Disney Christmas Parade and it even snowed! Disney snow anyway. Then, we watched the fireworks over Cinderella's Castle. It was so fun and beautiful. That is what I have to tell you tonight. So, I'll write again tomorrow after rehearsal. Bye!

Hello everyone, I'm back ! It's me Hailey! This morning I woke up at 5:50 am (cali time) but my body thought it was 8:50 am. Because in South Carolina it was 8:50 am. But after that confusing moment I found myself cudling, laughing, and last but not least tackeling my dad I had tons and tons of fun!!!!!! I will soon be going to Disneyland! Hey! It's me Hailey. Today I had to get up at 7:00 am. I had to get up at 7:00 because my mom,dad,and I had to catch a flight. When we got to Atlanta, Our gate was switched and then we had to go to the other side of the airport! It was tragic! But luckily we made it and then we had a 4 hour flight to CALIFORNIA!!!!! Now I am here at Nationals. It is 10:00 here, but that means it is 1:00 in the morning in SC. I just got back from a 50's party (thanks to Genna for lending me her Pink Ladies jacket :)!) . I am soooo tired, that's all I can say tonight. Except, good-bye! Oh yeah, Disney tomorrow!
By the by: Yes, Nana, I did see the Rocky Mountains, but it was too cloudy to see the Mississippi River. Maybe on the way home.

Friday Night Before Leaving For Los Angeles

Hey y'all, it's Friday, the night before I go to Los Angeles, California and I am sooo excited!! I can't wait to fly over the Rockies and a river, can you believe it... I can't wait to look out the plane and at the sky and see all the different clouds, it will be awesome! I will be on a plane for over four hours, it is going to be a loooong ride. Well, that's all the things that I have to say about today, but be sure to check out my blog tomorrow night so that I can catch you up on all of the events of my first day at pageant.
